Content writing tools for SEO - What you should know
3 ways of using Content writing tools for SEO

Content creation is a time-consuming task for every website owner, and a lot of site owners consider investing in content writing tools for SEO.

In this blog post, I will focus on using different content tools and the pros and cons of using them.

Article spinning – Rewriting other peoples content

Article spinning is a content strategy that has been used for many years for search engine optimization.

The strategy is simple: You find a relevant article and use a content spinner to replace synonyms and rewrite it.

Some of the more sophisticated article spinners can even replace words, rewrite sentences and paragraphs, and create article versions almost 100% unique.

One of the best content spinners is Spin Rewriter – it has been around for many years, and it is a pretty sophisticated article spinner.

You can try Spin rewriter for free here.

Note: Content produced with a content spinner needs to be checked – not everything reads well and needs to be optimized (You don´t want content that doesn’t read well).

If you are using a content spinner, I suggest you proofread and fix the grammar in your articles – you can use Grammarly for that.

NOTE: A spun article is NOT SEO optimized, so you still need to optimize manually for the keyword you are targeting.

The use of AI for idea generation

A lot of the recent SEO tools are using AI (Artificial intelligence). AI can be a great help – especially in the idea phase.

Recently, a tool called Nichesss (Niche$$$) was released – it is a tool that can help generate ideas based on AI.

You can use Nichesss to make a blog intro or outro, develop ideas for a marketing plan or ideas for YouTube videos, and much more. (You can read my full Nichesss review here).

How to use AI for content creation for blog posts

Pleasing your readers and audience and the Search Engines starts by understanding the search intent behind the target keyword being used in the search query.

Google is perfectly able to see if your audience is finding what they are looking for, and we are way beyond keyword stuffing and other black hat tricks.

As a content marketer, your job is to secure that you or your content writers produce SEO-friendly content relevant and engaging for your users.

Why not start the research by checking what is already ranking in Google?

The first step in any content research is keyword research – you need to know what primary keywords your target audience is typing into Google. (Fabian has made this great article about keyword research!)

Once you have chosen your target keywords, the next step is to examine the already ranking content in Google.

How to examine your competitors and their content strategy

Search Engine Optimization and SEO content writing is a bit more than search volume and using a keyword research tool.

It would help if you examined the pieces of content that already rank in Google.

  • How long is the average content ranking in Google?
  • How are the different articles structured?
  • How are keywords and LSI keywords being used?
  • How are your competitors using headlines?
  • What kind of questions is being addressed and answered?

It might sound like something that would kill your entire writing process (especially if you have to manually do all of the research).

The good news is that there are tools for us SEO writers to create exactly the type of compelling content that Google and your audience love.

My Favourite tool for SEO-Friendly content

When I write a piece of content that I want to optimize for Google, I prefer Frase.io.

Frase is a helpful tool that can examine the content already ranking in Google and provide a full content brief for your content creators. (Content analysis)

It breaks everything down into topics, and you can examine topic clusters, what kind of titles are being used, how to use headers, and much more.

Frase can be used as a research tool for any content and help you with topic ideas.

No matter what kind of SEO writing tools you have, it is always down to how relevant your content is for your target audience.

Writing with keywords still requires that you create relevant and awesome content without errors (yeah, we all regularly make those ugly grammar mistakes).

A few tips would be:

  • Focus on original content

  • Focus on blog topics that are relevant to your target audience

  • Focus on good user experience (and visual content as well)

  • Avoid duplicate content

  • Try to eliminate the worst grammatical errors (use Grammarly)

  • Avoid keyword stuffing and keep a low keyword density

  • Use a tone of voice that matches your audience (Try to avoid passive voice)

  • Make an SEO content template

  • Answer relevant questions (Good for voice search)

  • Focus on the user’s needs instead of chasing an SEO score only!

  • Produce fresh content – at least one article per week
  • Remember to get a few authority links from relevant websites within your niche

Remember that none of us were born writers, but over time, I believe it is possible to improve our writing skills (I am still working on mine!)

I hope this gave you an idea about using content writing tools for SEO in your content marketing strategy.

You might be surprised when you discover how well you can do in Google and organic search with a well-optimized article.

By examining your competitors, you would often see that a single article can rank in Google for HUNDREDS of keywords.

If you are new, it might feel a bit weird to write content for SEO – but trust me, it is worth it, and it can create wonders for your conversion rate! 😉
